궁전떡집 Gungjeon Tteokjip — My neighborhood favorite for classic rice cakes

#1 Before ten in the morning
111 Geobuk-ro, a rice cake shop in the market. Come before ten in the morning and freshly made rice cakes are out. The rice cakes I ate as a child are still here.
#2 Sweet-filled rice cakes
All the rice cakes are delicious. But for me, the texture and flavor here come together particularly well in the sweet-filled rice cakes. My personal favorite in this neighborhood. A classic rice cake shop that does the basics so well.
#3 Made that day
The rice cakes are soft because they were made that day. Not too sweet, with the taste of rice coming through. Kindly priced. A lovely find.
#4 Two different shops
Chakan Siru is in the same neighborhood. That shop has newer creations such as spicy potato rice cake; this one has the classics. Two different styles, so I can visit both.
A word for visitors from abroad
My neighborhood favorite for classic rice cakes: start with the sweet-filled rice cakes. Go early in the morning to buy them freshly made.

No festivals or famous sights today either — for me, a meal like this is a trip in itself.
